What is NutriQuest?

NutriQuest is a family nutrition tracker that makes healthy eating fun. Parents can create a family, set nutrition goals, and track meals together. Kids earn points and unlock avatars for hitting their daily nutrient targets.

How do I create a family account?

After signing up, tap Family in the bottom navigation and select Create Family. You'll receive a unique family code that other members can use to join your family group.

How do I add a family member?

Share your family code (found in the Family tab) with the person you want to add. They'll need to create their own account and then enter the family code when prompted to join.

How does food logging work?

You can log food three ways:

Manual entry — search or type a food name and enter nutrient details.

Barcode scan — point your camera at a product barcode and NutriQuest looks up the nutrition info automatically.

AI photo — take a photo of your meal and our AI will estimate the nutrients for you.

How are points calculated?

You earn 10 points for each nutrient you hit at 100% or more of your daily target, and 5 points for reaching at least 70%. A bonus of 30 points is awarded when you scan the family's daily food challenge.

What are avatars and how do I unlock them?

Avatars are characters you can use as your profile picture. There are 6 tiers — Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Mythical, and Divine. All 10 Common avatars are free to select when you sign up. Higher-tier avatars will be unlockable through daily rewards, crates, and future events.

How do I set nutrition goals for my kids?

Go to the Goals tab. As a parent, you can set weekly nutrition goals for each family member. You can also configure age groups (4–8, 9–13, 14–18, or Adult) which automatically adjusts the daily recommended intake (DRI) targets.

Can a parent log food for their child?

Yes. On the Home screen, tap the member selector at the top to switch to any family member's view. You can then log food entries on their behalf.

How do I remove a family member?

Open the Family tab, select the member, and choose Remove Member. This action can only be performed by the family creator/parent.

How do I delete my account?

To request account deletion, please email us at nutriq.support@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and we'll process it within 7 business days. All your personal data and food logs will be permanently removed.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Currently, password recovery is handled via support email. Please contact us at nutriq.support@gmail.com with your registered email address and we'll assist you.

What is NutriQuest Pro and how much does it cost?

NutriQuest Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks advanced features:

Monthly plan — $2.99/month, billed every month.

Annual plan — $24.99/year, billed once per year (saves ~30% vs monthly).

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime through your iPhone's Settings:

Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → NutriQuest → Cancel Subscription.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro access until then. We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a subscription period.

How do I restore my subscription on a new device?

Open NutriQuest and go to any Pro feature or the subscription screen, then tap Restore Purchases at the bottom. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. If you still can't restore, contact us at nutriq.support@gmail.com.

The barcode scanner isn't working. What should I do?

Make sure you've granted NutriQuest camera access in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy → Camera. If permissions are granted and it still isn't working, try restarting the app. If the issue persists, please contact us.

1. Introduction

At NutriQuest, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application NutriQuest (the "App").

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: The information we collect depends on the type of account created:

  • Parent accounts — we collect your email address, phone number, and a hashed (encrypted) password.
  • Kids accounts — we collect only a username, display name, and a hashed (encrypted) password. No email address or phone number is required.

Family Data: If you create or join a family group, we store your family name and family code.

Food Log Data: We collect records of food items you log, including nutrient values, dates, and any photos used for AI analysis.

Usage Data: We may collect anonymous usage information such as app interactions and crash reports to improve the App.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the App's core features (food logging, leaderboards, goals)
  • To display nutrition progress and points within your family group
  • To analyze food photos using AI to estimate nutrient content
  • To improve app performance and fix bugs
  • To respond to your support requests

4. Children's Privacy

NutriQuest is designed for family use and may be used by children under the age of 13 under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Parents or guardians create and manage family accounts and are responsible for overseeing their children's use of the App.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately at nutriq.support@gmail.com and we will promptly delete that information.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (a cloud database provider). Passwords are hashed using SHA-256 and are never stored in plain text. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, however we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — database and backend infrastructure (Privacy Policy)
  • Anthropic Claude API — AI-powered food photo analysis (Privacy Policy). Food photos sent for analysis are not retained by us after processing.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers (listed above) necessary to operate the App
  • To comply with applicable law or valid legal process
  • To protect the rights and safety of our users

8. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate personal data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Object to processing of your personal data

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data, food logs, and family associations are permanently deleted from our systems.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using NutriQuest (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

NutriQuest is a family nutrition tracking application that allows users to log food, set nutrition goals, and track progress. Some features require a paid subscription ("NutriQuest Pro").

3. Subscriptions and Billing

NutriQuest Pro is available as a subscription on the following terms:

  • Monthly plan: $2.99 per month
  • Annual plan: $24.99 per year

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings at any time. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.

Prices are in USD and may vary by region. We reserve the right to change subscription prices with reasonable notice.

4. Free Trial

NutriQuest may offer a free trial period for new users. After the trial ends, you will be charged the applicable subscription fee unless you cancel before the trial period expires. If you have previously subscribed to NutriQuest Pro, you may not be eligible for a free trial.

5. Restore Purchases

If you reinstall the App or switch devices, you can restore your subscription by tapping Restore Purchases in the subscription screen and signing in with the Apple ID used to purchase. If you have trouble restoring, contact us at nutriq.support@gmail.com.

6. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be 18 or older to create a parent account. Children's accounts must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or tamper with the App
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Upload offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code in NutriQuest is owned by or licensed to NutriQuest. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. NutriQuest does not provide medical or dietary advice. Nutrient information is for general tracking purposes only and should not replace professional medical guidance.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NutriQuest shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
